Marla and Randy Posted by Hello
Just checking in.

Not much new going on. Life is back to normal after our little visit to Pigeon Forge.

I'm still trying to eat right and work out. Well, not trying... I'm doing it. I slip occasionally (I had McDonald's for dinner last night), but for the most part I'm doing good. I thought I was losing weight, but it seems like I've actually gained some. Ah well. I'll still eat good and exercise for my health. I guess I'm destined to be big now. :(

We had a good weekend in Pigeon Forge. It was busy though, because it was Rod Run weekend.

The chalet mom and dad got was great. It had a pool table and a hot tub, so staying there wasn't as bad as if we had just got a hotel room.

The little chapel that Marla got married in was kinda cute, in a cheesy sort of way. The cabin they stayed in was named The Garden of Eden, and all the cabins had similar goofy names. Oh, and it had a heart shaped tub. /groan.

Even though we were only an hour away from home and only gone for the weekend, it wore me out. I stayed home from work yesterday with Noah (since the babysitter is getting 2 days off) and I still needed to go to bed last night at 8:30, lol. I'm so old that this little trip wore me out. And Noah was off his kilter, too. He was up till 11:00 almost Sunday night, and then he crashed on the couch yesterday at 6:00. It's now 6:00 a.m. and he's still not awake.

Noah's hand is finally healing. He had a really nice blister there for a while.

This weekend is Marla's wedding. I'm feeling a bit guilty since we are going out of town and leaving Noah with his sitter. To compensate, she won't have to watch him next Monday and Tuesday. It's going to be weird being away from him. This will be the first time we've left him over-night with someone who isn't a relative.

Three year olds go absolutely nuts when the burn their hands on tailpipes.

Today our electricity went out for a while. So, to kill time and because it was a very nice day, we went to get something to eat and spend a little time at the park. When we got home, Noah got out of the truck, ran around behind it and stuck his hand on the tailpipe. Next thing I know, he's dropping his fries and heading to the house, screaming.

We put ice on it and that helped for a while. Then Tank needed to go in to work. After about an hour and a half and Noah was still crying (he had dozed off at one point, but his hand kept waking him up), I called Tank and told him he needed to come home and get something for Noah's hand. He came and had Bactine. That stuff is a miracle drug. The second we put it on Noah's hand, he was fine. Which was a relief for all of us. I don't know how much longer I could have listened to the screaming. Partly because I felt bad for him, and partly because, well... it's a three year old screaming. No one can listen to that for too long.

Rubber arms, ugh.

It could be my imagination, but some of my pants are starting to feel a bit looser. And I don't feel quite as stuffed into my bras, either. I hope it means I have lost a little. And I hope I'm able to keep it off this time.

I layed in a different tanning bed yesterday, and I got a little burned on my back. First sunburn I've had in years, heh.

Have I mentioned yet that Marla is getting married? On the 16th of this month. Who'da thunk it?

Noah at Easter, hunting eggs Posted by Hello
Just checking in. Nothing new to report.

I have been lazy the last 4 days. I didn't work out and only sorta ate ok. I figure it's ok to "fall off" for a little while, as long as I climb back on. Which I did today. Right now I'm just waiting for my rubbery arms to start working again so I can do laundry and wash dishes.

In the news, both the Pope and Terri Schiavo have died. I suppose Michael Jackson will be our source for amusement for now.

I called Jackie yesterday. It was the first time I've talked to her in... God, I don't know how long. At least a year and a half I'd say. We weren't able to talk for long, and we may try to meet up for a day in Chattanooga soon. We've got a lot to catch up on.

Also yesterday, Tank brought me flowers to work. (awww....) He said he feels like he's been a bitch lately since he's working a lot and he wanted to do a little something for me. I don't feel like he's been in a mood or anything, but he has been gone a lot. I'm trying not to question it too much, lol, but it's just not his style.

And Terri Shiavo died yesterday. (Yesterday was a busy day) Time to move on to the next media circus. I think it's about time Michael Jackson did something really loopy in court.
